INTERNATIONAL ROMA DAY 2019
Medzinarodny den Romov 2019

In April 2019 we successfully delivered our first International Roma Day in Gravesend, Kent. On Friday 5th we raised the Roma flag in front of the Civic Centre to mark the day and held a concert in the St George’s Church. On Saturday 6th April public festival started with a horse-carriage procession through the town ending with a staged musical performance at The Fort Gardens.   
  
V apríli 2019 sme úspešne zorganizovali náš prvý Medzinárodný Deň Rómov v Gravesende, Kent. V piatok 5.aprila sme vztýčili vlajku pred miestnym obecným úradom na počesť tohto dna a uskutočnili sme koncert v kostole Sv. Juraja. V sobotu 6.aprila sa konal festival, ktorý začal sprievodom koni a kočov cez cele mesto do Fort Gardens kde bol hudobne vystúpenie v altánku.

CHRISTMAS FAIR ON THE SQUARE 2018

What an amazing open day during Christmas Fair on the Square. We gave away plenty of goody bags and made fantastic Christmas cards.

Náš skvelý Deň otvorených dverí v rámci eventu Vianoce na námestí. Rozdali sme množstvo balíčkov a vytvorili úžasné vianočné pohľadnice.

ROMANI HOLOCAUST - PORRAIMOS
Rómsky holokaust - porraimos

Every year we organise a memorial event commemorating that horrible period. For the first time in August 2018, we organized an international exhibition in Gravesend. PORRAIMOS - extremely means; feeding Naci our own souls and bodies. It is the worst chapter in Romani history - terrorism, sadism, poison gas extermination, humiliation and bullying on a scale that we can’t even begin to describe... It lays bare the deepest, most mournful side of the Romani soul. We can’t forget... (Leperiben)

Každý rok organizujeme podujatie, aby sme si pripomenuli najhoršie obdobie našich dejín. V auguste 2018 sme po prvýkrát v histórii zorganizovali medzinárodnú výstavu v Gravesende. PORRAIMOS znamená požieranie našich duší a tiel nacistami. Je to najhoršia kapitola v rómskej histórii. Znamená terorizmus, sadizmus, masové vraždy plynom, ponižovania, šikanu v takých rozmeroch, aké nevieme vysvetliť... Je to najtemnejšia stránka našich rómskych duší. Stále je tam. Nemôžeme zabudnúť. ST. NICHOLAS DAY 2018
Mikuláš 2018

St Nicholas Day was a great success. Goody bags were given to many children who attended the event, others went to churches, charities and also to a homeless shelter. The rest of the goody bags were given during the event 'Christmas Fair in the Square' which we delivered together with Northfleet Big Local and took place in front of our community centre.

Mikuláš v kostole bol úspešný. Mnohým deťom sme rozdali balíčky, putovali aj pre kostoly, charitu a tiež útolok pre bezdomovcov. Ďalšie balíčky boli rozdane deťom pred naším komunitným centrom vrámci podujatia „Vianoce na námestí, ktoré sme zorganizovali spolu s Northfleet Big Local.

MEETINGS WITH COMMUNITY AND AUTHORITIES
Stretnutia s ľuďmi a autoritami

We regularly engage with both migrants and resident communities in order to be able to present their immediate views, concerns, problems at timely meetings and forums. We are proactive in listening to the needs and issues of the community in order to be their ‘voice.’ We not only provide support and advice but also work on developing mutual cultural understanding to ensure that we live in a society that treats people equally. 

Pravidelne spolupracujeme s prisťahovalcami a rezidentnymi komunitami, aby sme mohli včas prezentovať ich názory, obavy, problémy na stretnutiach a fórach. Aktívne počúvame potreby a problémy komunity, aby sme boli ich „hlasom“. Poskytujeme nielen podporu a poradenstvo, ale pracujeme aj na rozvoji vzájomného kultúrneho porozumenia, aby sme zaistili, že žijeme v spoločnosti, ktorá zaobchádza s ľuďmi rovnako.
